We need to Take Action NOW to stop the criminalization of Brittany Watts for her miscarriage.

Brittany Watts experienced a miscarriage and is being criminalized for her pregnancy loss by Ohio prosecutors. Brittany is currently awaiting a grand jury decision on whether she will stand trial for a felony for how she responded in a moment that should never have been made public.

Brittany needs our help to stop prosecutors in Ohio from taking her case to trial.

I’m calling to ask your office to drop the charges against Brittany Watts. As a member of NCJW/CLE and an Ohioan who worked very hard  to pass Issue 1, I am disgusted that Ms. Watts has been charged with a felony for a pregnancy loss. Ohio law does not support, and should never support, criminalizing someone for experiencing a pregnancy loss. 

I do not want anyone in my community to have to fear arrest for a miscarriage. No one should be criminalized while they are grieving and recovering from a miscarriage.
