Participate in “ACTS OF KINDNESS” with the committee, performing monthly, kind-hearted activities for women, children and families whose lives we touch.
We have already made an impact by doing: an Appreciation Lunch for NCJW/CLE Staff; baking desserts and volunteering with activities and distributing books at the Community of Hope picnic; and creating 25 camp bags (filled with journals, pens and stickers) for foster care kids with Fostering Hope.
HERE’S HOW YOU CAN PARTICIPATE:
- OCT 23: To congratulate the Cleveland Jewish News on its recent award and reaffirm the importance of good journalism, we will bring refreshments to the staff after they put that week’s issue “to bed.” We are looking for volunteers to bake sweets or bring savory snacks. Contact: Janice Hirshon, firstname.lastname@example.org / 508-667-0195 to volunteer and for further information.
- NOVEMBER 3: Join us at Big Hearted Blooms as we repurpose flowers from weddings, bar and bat mitzvahs and other celebrations. We will place the flowers in new arrangements and distribute them to care facilities in Cleveland. Learn (or practice your own) expertise in flower arranging and help lift the spirits of residents and patients. This is a great mitzvah project for bar and bat mitzvah celebrants.
Date: Sunday, November 3
Time: 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
Location: Big Hearted Blooms, 5122 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland
Qualifications: 6th grade and up. No flower arranging experience necessary.
