WHAT’S AN ENDOWMENT?

An Endowment gift is a donation to a non-profit organization that is given with the intent of preserving the original value of the gift and growing it over time. The funds are held in perpetuity and invested, with the accumulated appreciation and income on the investment used to fund an annual distribution. The annual distribution is spent according to the donor’s wishes – whether it’s for a designated program/project or set up as an unrestricted gift.

Whatever choice you make, we want to help you design the most meaningful gift to meet your goals. For more information about setting up an Endowment, contact Char Rapoport Nance, vice president of Fund Development, char.rapoport.nance@gmail.com, or Executive Director, Mindi Axner, maxner@ncjwcleveland.org.

(Always consult your tax professionals to make sure any major gift is the right choice for you, and that you understand the tax implications.)
