Roslyn Z. Wolf Award: Criteria and Selection Process

 Criteria:

  • The award recipient of the $10,000 Roslyn Z. Wolf Award will be a project of a not-for-profit organization that embodies the mission of National Council of Jewish Women/Cleveland (NCJW/CLE)—to improve the lives of women, children and families in Northeast Ohio.
  • Organizations must have a total budget of $1,000,000 or less to be eligible.
  • Previous winners are eligible to reapply with new projects.
  • The proposed project will:
    • Impact the quality of life for families of Greater Cleveland.
    • Have an educational component for the betterment of youth.
    • Encompass a level of volunteer and/or philanthropic commitment.
    • Enable the Wolf award to have a significant impact on the project’s viability.
  • The award recipient will be asked to give NCJW/CLE a six month and twelve month organizational or project progress update.
  • The competition is open to the general nonprofit community. Fundraising and capital campaigns are not eligible for this award.

Prize:

  • A $10,000 grant from NCJW/CLE to be used as stated in the application.
  • The organization’s name added to a recognition plaque on permanent display at the NCJW/CLE office.

Application/selection process:

  • Application can be submitted online at this application form or via email (president@ncjwcleveland.org), along with responses to the application form concerning the organization’s qualifications.
  • The process may include a site visit or phone interview by an NCJW/CLE representative.
  • The award recipient is chosen by an NCJW/CLE committee consisting of the current NCJW/CLE President(s), two NCJW/CLE past presidents, NCJW/CLE members-at-large and Roslyn Z. Wolf’s daughters or their designees.
  • The award winner will be contacted mid-May.
  • The award will be presented at the Annual Meeting, generally in early June.
